Aban bin Uthman bin Affan (20 AH - 105 AH) was a prominent Tabi'i, narrator of hadith, and historian. He was the son of Caliph Uthman ibn Affan (the third Caliph of Islam) and served as the governor of Medina from 75 AH to 82 AH during the reign of Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan.
