Abdur Rahman ibn Awf (RA) was one of the ten companions promised Paradise and a wealthy companion known for his generosity. His original name was Abdul Amr (slave of Amr), but the Prophet renamed him Abdur Rahman. He accepted Islam at the age of 21 through Abu Bakr. He migrated to Abyssinia and later to Medina. The Prophet established a bond of brotherhood between him and Sa'ad ibn Rabi' of the Ansar. He became a successful businessman in Medina and gave generously in charity. He participated in all battles, including Badr and Uhud, where he was severely wounded. He was among the six members of the Shura committee. He died in 652 CE.

عبدالرحمن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ ان دس صحابیوں میں سے تھے جنہیں جنت کی بشارت دی گئی تھی اور وہ اپنی سخاوت کے لیے مشہور تھے۔ ان کا اصل نام عبدالعمر تھا، لیکن نبی کریم نے ان کا نام عبدالرحمن رکھا۔ انہوں نے 21 سال کی عمر میں ابو بکر کے ذریعے اسلام قبول کیا۔ وہ حبشہ اور پھر مدینہ ہجرت کر گئے۔ وہ تمام غزوات میں شریک ہوئے۔ وہ 652 عیسوی میں وفات پا گئے۔

عبد الرحمن بن عوف هو أحد العشرة المبشرين بالجنة، كان اسمه عبد عمرو فسماه النبي عبد الرحمن. أسلم في سن 21 على يد أبي بكر. هاجر إلى الحبشة ثم إلى المدينة. شارك في جميع الغزوات. توفي عام 652 م.
