Abu al-Aswad bin Yazid al-Kindi
Abu al-Aswad bin Yazid al-Kindi was a companion of Prophet Muhammad and a judge of Kufa. His full name was Abu al-Aswad bin Yazid bin Asid al-Kindi. He was appointed as the judge of Kufa during the time of Caliph Mu'awiyah. He was known for his knowledge of hadith and Islamic law. He was also the maternal uncle of Abu Muslim al-Khawlani. He was one of the few companions who lived long enough to witness the later Umayyad period. He died in 67 AH (686-687 CE).
