Abu al-Dahdah al-Ansari was a companion of Prophet Muhammad from the Ansar (helpers) of Medina. He was a successful businessman before Islam but after converting, his focus shifted entirely to religious devotion. He is best known for his extraordinary generosity. When a dispute arose between two men over a palm tree, Abu al-Dahdah purchased the tree at a high price and gifted it to the Prophet. In response, the Prophet informed him that he would have a palm tree in Paradise for every palm tree he owned in this world. He is also known for his saying: 'I do not forbid buying and selling - that is what I love - but buying and selling that does not distract from the remembrance of Allah.'
