Abu al-Zubayr Muhammad bin Muslim

Abu al-Zubayr Muhammad bin Muslim bin Tadrus al-Asadi was a Tabi'i (follower of the Companions) and a well-known narrator of hadith from Mecca. He was a client (mawla) of the Banu Asad tribe. He was known as Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki. He narrated hadith from several prominent companions including Jabir ibn Abd Allah, Abu Hurayrah, and Ibn Abbas. He was considered a reliable narrator by some hadith critics, though others noted some weakness in his memory. He was from the third generation of Muslims and his narrations are found in the six major hadith collections.
