أَبُو أَسْمَاء الشَّامِي

Abu Asma al-Shami

Abu Asma al-Shami was a companion of Prophet Muhammad who came as a delegate from Syria (Sham) to meet the Prophet. He pledged allegiance (bay'ah) to the Prophet, and the Prophet shook hands with him. After this, Abu Asma made a vow to himself that he would never shake hands with anyone else after shaking the Prophet's hand. He remained true to this vow and would not shake hands with others. His narration is transmitted through his descendants. Some sources distinguish him from another companion named Ghudayf. He is mentioned in the biographical works of Ibn Mandah and Abu Nu'aym.

ابو اسماء الشامی نبی کریم کے صحابی تھے جو شام سے بطور وفد نبی کریم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے۔ انہوں نے نبی کریم سے بیعت کی، اور نبی کریم نے ان سے مصافحہ کیا۔ اس کے بعد ابو اسماء نے اپنے اوپر یہ عہد کیا کہ وہ نبی کریم کے بعد کسی سے مصافحہ نہیں کریں گے۔ وہ اس عہد پر قائم رہے۔
