He was the commander of the Muslim army at the historic Battle of Qadisiyya in 637 CE, which resulted in the defeat of the Persian Empire. He served as the governor of Iraq and founded the city of Kufa. He retired during the caliphate of Ali and died in 670 CE at the age of 70.

سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ ان دس صحابیوں میں سے تھے جنہیں جنت کی بشارت دی گئی تھی اور وہ ایک مشہور جرنیل تھے جنہوں نے عراق اور فارس کو فتح کیا۔ انہوں نے 17 سال کی عمر میں اسلام قبول کیا۔ وہ غزوہ بدر اور احد کے مشہور جنگجو تھے۔ وہ 637 عیسوی میں تاریخی جنگ قادسیہ میں مسلم فوج کے کمانڈر تھے۔ وہ عراق کے گورنر رہے اور شہر کوفہ کی بنیاد رکھی۔ وہ 670 عیسوی میں وفات پا گئے۔

سعد بن أبي وقاص هو أحد العشرة المبشرين بالجنة وقائد فتح العراق وفارس. أسلم في سن 17. كان بطلاً في معركتي بدر وأحد. كان قائد الجيش المسلم في معركة القادسية التاريخية عام 637 م. تولى حكم العراق وأسس مدينة الكوفة. توفي عام 670 م.
