Sawdah bint Zam'ah (RA) was the second wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a Mother of the Believers. She was born around 566-580 CE in Mecca. She was the daughter of Zam'ah ibn Qays from the Banu Amir clan of the Quraysh. She married As-Sakran ibn Amr, and they were among the early Muslims who migrated to Abyssinia. After her husband died on their return to Mecca, the Prophet married her in 619-620 CE, soon after the death of Khadijah. Sawdah was known for her compassionate nature and her devotion to the Prophet's household. She later voluntarily gave her night with the Prophet to Aisha to secure the Prophet's favor. She died around 644 or 674 CE and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi.
