Suhaib

Suhaib is an Arabic name meaning 'of reddish hair' or 'reddish complexion'. It is derived from the Arabic root 'ṣ-h-b', associated with the color red. The name is most notably linked to Suhaib ar-Rumi (also known as Suhaib ibn Sinan), a prominent companion of Prophet Muhammad, known for his distinctive reddish hair and complexion. He was a Roman (Byzantine) who was captured as a child and grew up in the Byzantine Empire before embracing Islam. He is celebrated for his profound faith and immense sacrifice, having given up all his wealth to emigrate from Mecca to Medina during the Hijra.

صهيب اسم عربي يعني 'الأحمر الشعر' أو 'الأحمر البشرة'. يرتبط الاسم بالصحابي صهيب الرومي، المعروف بشعره الأحمر وبشرته الحمراء. كان من الموالي الذين أسلموا وهاجر إلى المدينة تاركاً كل ماله.
