Umm Habibah (RA), whose real name was Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan, was a wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a Mother of the Believers. She was the daughter of Abu Sufyan, a powerful Quraish chief who was initially a staunch opponent of Islam, and the half-sister of Mu'awiyah, the first Umayyad caliph. She was born around 589 CE in Mecca. She and her first husband, Ubayd-Allah ibn Jahsh, were among the early Muslims who migrated to Abyssinia. Her husband later converted to Christianity, but she remained steadfast on Islam. The Prophet sent a marriage proposal to her in Abyssinia, and the Negus (king) of Abyssinia conducted the marriage ceremony on his behalf, giving her a mahr of 400 dinars. She narrated around 65 hadiths and died in 664 CE.
